The later style interior such as you and I have uses a small 12 volt operated
valve inline with rubber hoses to and from the heater core. The valve is located
up against the fire wall, right near the starter as I recall. My hose was rotten
and I had to replace it. Applying 12volts opens the valve IIRC, so you might check
bad connections. It gets it's command from the heating controls, but I don't
believe it's actually a computer per se. I have a spare valve but can't get to at
the moment to test whether it's normally open or closed. Let me know what you
find.
