405 Brake Pad Wear Sensors/Engine oil

In my 14 years of Peugeots I've found the pad wear warning to be quite hit or miss. One time the light only came on once when the wire wore through, then never came back on again. I think the wire gets moushed around with the pad material sometimes and continues to make a complete or partial connection even after its broken.

Moral of the story: know how long your pads have been on the car and take off the wheels and eyeball their thickness when appropriate. Don't rely on the light.
