505 turbo inconsistency

my 88 505 Turbo's acting funny. My acceleration is very inconsistent when
compared with how the car performs at different times (not temperatures, just
from one flooring to the next). Sometimes it changes if I turn the car off and
back on. I'm thinking it might be a dirty switch on my throttle body cam
because the car won't rev past 2000-3000 RPM sometimes. Could a dirty
connection in this switch cause a lack of fuel when the engine needs it and
even a reduction in boost pressure? This acceleration difference is very
noticable, when it's good you can feel the headrest material wrinkling from
the force your head puts on it, when it's not your head doesn't even touch it.
