re: 1982 505 sti smog check

I just went through Oregon's "smog check" with a 1976 BMW 2002 (I'll
trade it for a Berlina) and a 1978 Ford Van. In both cases I was high on
HC and CO. In both cases, retarding the timing and reducing the idle
speed enabled me to pass. In both cases timing was re-advanced after the
test for better power and gas mileage.
