Only when all else fails do I read the owner's manual.

My copy (p 11) refers to a "valet parking switch" located inside
the trunk (on the passenger side rear wheel well): "After pushing
valet parking switch, the trunk can only be unlocked using the
round key."

This switch therefore selects unlocking of the trunk either with
the doors or only with the trunk key.
