Gday,

I've been idling on the list for a while now and i thought i should
introduce myself. My name is Brendan Clare and i am 19. I am an Apple
Computer Technician in training, living in Noosa in Australia.

My families history with Peugeots goes a fair way back with my grandfathe=
r
owning and running one of the largest Peugeot-Citroen-Renault-Saab
dealerships in Sydney in the 60's and 70's. He has owned a 504 for the la=
st
21 years and boasts that the head has never been taken off and that it us=
es
no oil. Pretty good for a car that has crossed Australia more than a few
times and numerous other long trips as well as being a daily driver!! He
now owns a '93 405 STi which I drive occasionly and in my mind this car i=
s
brilliant. He hates it cos it is too fast =F7)

My father has also owned numerous Peugeots (404, 504 sedan and wagon, 505
sedan and wagon, 405) amongst Citroens(GS, CX, DS, BX) and various Renaul=
ts.

After putting up with an '87 Saab 900 for a first car for 2 years I went
out last week and bought a '95 306 XT. North Americans are at an extreme
disadvantage not to have this car in my opinion. It is GREAT!! - I just
cant wait to drive it anywhere anytime!! I intend to have a web page on m=
y
car soon.

One question i have in relation to this car is regarding the rear
suspension. When I park on a steep hill facing up the hill and apply the
handbrake the whole back of the car lift up about 2 feet!! - Well....it
FEELS like about 2 feet. The Question is.....does this do any damage to t=
he
suspension if it kept like this overnight or other long periods of time??=
-
I guess this applies to 405's as well. I was just wondering as it feels
odd.....but nonetheless its a good party trick.

Glad to be part of the list.

Brendan Clare.
