Today I was driving my 88 505 Turbo (5 spd) and found myself behind a Porsche
911 (I think it was an older one). I was stopped behind him at a stoplight and
there were enough cars in front of him to keep him from getting to the highway
entrance ramp without stopping first. It was a short tight ramp making over
270 degrees on an incline to a bridge. As soon as he get's into the lane for
the ramp, he floors it and I do the same -- I LOVE that ramp. I kept the same
distance behind him all the way up. I did stay closer to the inside of the
ramp though and oversteered for a part of it -- he didn't but at one point I
saw a puff of blue smoke from his tailpipe. He kept the 911 floored up until
we hit about 75 and then let off. He didn't gain an inch on me the whole time,
I may have been gaining but am not sure. I just thought it was amazing I kept
up with the car since I've got 114,000 miles on my original turbocharger and
have a blown O-ring off the unit. It was a lot of fun.
Just a note,
