Not only is is possible, Gunther (my mechanic) has performed several
conversions. I had the chance to drive one. The brake pedal required a
little more pressure, and did seam spongy, but it did work. Maybe replacing
the brake lines with braided steel would help with that.

Not too sure, but I think an 89 diff would work.
