Bruce,

A good working, non incredibly expensive ABS system, with the Torsen Diff,
would be perfect. There is no traction control in my 88 STX. I remember
having some problems in the winter with traction on the STX. I also
remember being able to get around pretty good with weight in the trunk of
the 86 Turbo. Maybe it was the tires and less torque in the turbo.
Michelin MXV are on the STX. I don't remember what was on the Turbo.

Regards,
John

It may be possible to replace the control unit of the ABS with a
conventional 505 master cylinder and brake booster. The wheel
cylinders are the same a little rearranging of the copper lines
and a LSD and you'll have what you want.
What would happen if you put in a LSD with the ABS system??
Does the STX ABS have traction control?
