Urgent: Metric Fastener Question

During the installation of my new clutch, one of the M7x1x25mm Allen head
bolts broke off. Well, it seems these bolts are as scarce as hens teeth.
The local (well stocked) parts store has M7 Hex head bolts. My
question is can these be used instead of the Allen variety. Both
are graded 8.8. The access for the socket will be no problem.
