the detox'd version.... I hope! :-)
A review of my adapter project/scheme....
A stock 505 wheel has a lug pattern (PCD) of 4 X 140mm. This pretty is
unique, thus there are no aftermarket wheels.
The 15X6 stock wheels have a +25mm offset.
The adapters I had made bolt to the stock hubs and are 25.4mm thick.
There are many 4.5 X 4 wheels out there, I picked Honda and have the
wheel-side hubcentric to match Honda (4-cyl Accord). 4.5" = 114.3mm.
To use them, the hub remains stock and the adapter is held on by special
slim nuts (taper style). No mod to hub or car is req'd.
With the 25.4 mm thickness of the adapter, if you had a Honda +50mm
offset wheel and tire of the same size as the 505, you'd have 0.4mm
additional strut clearance.
A +48mm offset wheel would get you .081" of strut clearance and allow for
a bigger tire. If does not solve any fender clearance issues though.
As for wheel diameter, any Honda wheel 14-20in may fit although the 14-15
may have caliper rub.
