86 505 Turn Flasher - Where?

I'm looking under the dash to the left of the steering column. I've
removed the lower cover from below the steering column and the black
panel at the bottom. But I can't find anything that looks like the turn
signal flasher. The manual says it is behind the dash at the lower kick
panel. I see two plug in boxes there but they have 7 and 8 connector
pins.....not 3 like I'm looking for and the wire number are not what I'm
looking for.
Anyone done this lately and remember where it is?
