That Alfa guy testimonial says something about Stihl making the 16V motor.
That is false. The 16V lower end is nearly identical to the 8V. The head,
also aluminum, is a Peugeot design too. The cam covers, which are
magnesium, were manfactured by Stihl, and marked with their name. Stihl,
the same guys who make chainsaws, do a lot of nice castings in "light
metal". They may even cast the aluminum head(?). They may have done design
related to casting process but that would be all. I'll guess Peugeot
does little if any work with magnesium so they outsourced that part.
