I wish it was as simple as this, but this does not explain the fact that
the car begins to miss and stumble whenever it reaches 1/2 tank (8 gallons
down) and gets progressively worse as the tank gets emptier. Also, every
manual I've got says the tank capacity of the 405 is 17.2 US gallons (65
litres). If the car can't even go 45 mph with 2.2 gallons left in the
tank, then someone designed the tank wrong.
