'89 405 Mi16: alternator eats radiator hose

Well, I knew it would happen eventually...somehow the engine moved
forward enough to let the alternator pulley eat into the bottom radiator
hose. Why in the heck was the hose placed so close to that thing?
I have patched it temporarily with a high-pressure chemical patch, but
I'll have to order a new hose soon. I imagined this would happen
BEFORE, but I replaced the shredded top engine mount last week. Anyone
else had this problem? Whats the correction to prevent it again? Does
hard cornering move the engine that much?(I took the 405 up Monte Santo
Mountain this weekend).
