MI16, 90,000 miles: mis-fire at low revs?

Hi,

A few months ago my MI16 had an idling problem and a lot of you
responded with suggestions - thank you. I believe the problem involved
the idle speed control valve - having spent an evening stripping down
and cleaning out the key parts the idling has improved. However,
recently I've noticed that pulling away in 2nd or 3rd at just below 2000
rpm the car will jolt/mis-fire. Once above 2000 everything appears to
run smoothly. Also, it is more noticeable if attempt to pull away hard,
if I'm gentle with my right foot it will pull away smoothly.

I'm still learning about fuel injection systems and was wondering
whether the fuel pressure regulator could affect this. I've noticed a
small fuel line from the regulator into the air intakes for cold
starts?, could this be sticking and thus over fueling? or am I talking
rubbish?

I'm beginning to wonder whether I have actually fixed the idling problem
and that it has actually got worse. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Alan.
