There shouldn't be any difference unless there is knocking. If there is no knocking, you can use any grade you want. The 87 octane and 93 octane have the same BTu content. Reid Vapor Pressure is the same too. the 93 only burns slower, which doesnt mean more *nor* less power as you have to consider a whole cycle. Only thing is the 93 let you run higher compression, more advanced ignition timing and that kind of thing. Note that this is across a same brand, different brand of gas have different additives and different BTu for a same octane.
