HI,

I have this problem and its due to the speedometer cable - I'm on my 3rd
cable after 90,000 miles. The spindle in the cable is metal,
unfortunately, this changes to square plastic just as it enters the back
of the speedo. Its the square plastic becoming rounded/split that
causes the shakes.

Fit a new one carefully, if you don't correctly align the square plastic
in back of your speedo then the problem will soon return.

Hi..

My Peugeot 1994 405 is slowly developing a wavering speedo indicator, At
low
speeds 30mph it wavers between the speed Markings, My Fathers year older
405
which has done a lot more miles has developed a really bad wavering
speedo
indicator at any speed, Has anyone got any ideas on what's causing this
?
And is it a common fault ?

Thanks !
