VIN discrepancies?

All,
I ran my VINs against the information supplied us at
http://www.vectorbd.com/peugeot/505vin.html and I now have a couple of
questions:
1) My 86 Turbo S a/t sedan (VF3BA71Z6GSxxxxxx) has a "Z" where there should
be 1 thru 9 or A thru R. Anyone have an idea what the Z stands for on this
car?
2) My 87 "Turbo S" ex-SSB road race sedan (VF3BA7154HSxxxxxx) deciphers as a
"DL (California), GL M/T (50 State)" which doesn't surprise me too much
given how strange the Showroom Stock manufacturers wars were in the mid 80s.
Obviously, the car started out as one thing and was modified to be something
else when it was retired. That trend, by the way, will continue soon. ;-)
