505 T 87 rear diff ?

i put my 87 505 T rear end up on bloacks the other day and "drove it."
(used the engine to drive the wheels anyway)

i was shocked to see both wheels turning ! i thought the 87 didnt have any
locking or limited slip diff ?

can somebody tell me which this is ? it locks up to a certain speed ? what
speed ?

no wonder its so damn good in the snow-- the rear wheels just never brake
free (at least not on acceleration ina str8 line)
