I would suggest that you go to the local import car bone yard and find a
Mercedes 240D or 300D. The driver and passenger side mats have a sheet of
lead on the backside (You will know for sure when you pick them up). These
mats fit into 504's quite well and do a great job of soundproofing. In
addition they look great and are very durable
You could also try Big Rig parts supplier for Leadsheeting which you can
cut or alternatively steal some X-ray vests from the local hospital : - ).
I think you will find the Mercedes solution to be easier and less
exspensive, and you won't go to jail for it, or feel bad.
