Hugo,
If the noise is a whistle, take a piece of vacuum tubing, hold one end in
your ear and move it around the engine compartment to where the noise is
loudest. Remember that vacuum lines run under the manifold. If it is more
of a whine (bearing noise) a longgggggggggg screw driver makes a wonder
stethescope. Just touch it to a possible source (no moving) and place your
ear next to the handle.

Any chance the thing in the trunk is the motor for the sun roof.
