Runing with rear wheels Suspended

I noticed that some on this thread jack up their lions and think
nothing of running the drive train in this mode. Years ago when I
worked for the VW guys, the gestapo's instructions were not to try it.
Damage to CV joints was cited as the reason. Has Peugeot come up with
immune joints, or are some of us happily jacking toward $J$O$I$N$T
city?? We have more than 15 lions and I was surprised two weeks ago to
find a loose inner joint after pulling an axle to replace a boot on a
car that I resurrected from the local bone yard. Too expensive for a
boot. Was only $13.00 for the whole axle in the bone yard with joints,
boots and all! Should be no problem runing axles if the rear suspension
is deflected by weight of car on two jack stands. Bill Thomas
