The N9TE Engine

The Citroen BX "P", "M", Rally, 4TC Serie 200 and 4TC Evo cars used this
Matra (out of Simca) engine (prepared by ROC in the case of the BX "P").
This was used also in the Simca/Chrysler 160/180/2 litre, Peugeot 505
turbo, Matra Murena series as well as the Matra Le Mans sportscars and
also some of the Matra F2 cars.

The power unit was designed by Simca in 1967 and due to its strengths was
used in the above until 1986.

With the sale of Chrysler Europe (which included Simca/Talbot) to
Peugeot-Citroen, the engine was re-used with some modifications and
redesignated N9TE. The Peugeot 505 turbo engine is virtually identical to
the Matra Murena 2.2 turbo which in its original form would produce 155bhp
@ 5200rpm.
