    It may not be that your release bearing is shot or it would make an
    unbelievable noise when you depress the clutch. It sounds like the clutch
    might be binding on the transmission input shaft. Assembly instructions
    include lubrication of this shaft when replacing the clutch. Try a sray
    lubricant with a very long nozzle to get some lubricant onto that shaft. Not
    to much or it will be all ofer the clutch.
