I'v started building my 3 inch exhaust. I've removed a headpipe from
another junk car to start with. My intent is to use a SS 3" collector
header transistion piece to bring the exisiting pipe up to 3". It will
become 3" starting 3-4" below the Lambda port and will be full 3" within
3-4 more inches. So that piece will be a reworked stock headpipe. Cost
$10+welding. Next I'll have a custom collector-flanged to
collector-flanged pipe made to extend to the cat. A Random Tech 3" cat and
muffler is an easy bolt on. I haven't totally considered tailpipes but
I'll guess they'll be dual 2.5" that I'll proto in plain steel first.
Are any of you interested in the custom 3" pipe? I'll be getting one and
every subsequent one makes the whole deal cheaper!
