Part of the digging into the history of the N9 took me through a lot of
related and semi-related links. Somewhere along the line, I took a look at
the Lotus 2.2 Turbo. It's a more oversquare and is 16V but its 2174cc is
in our league. By 1990, it was 9.5:1CR and 261HP. I'd think the better
chamber of a 16V motor allowed the 9:5 to work better but that suggests
that a N9 could have a higher CR. Use of the pistons from a Murena 2.2S
would take it to 9.45.
I lack my collection of R&T and C-D magazines but am some point, I'd like
to look at what they used for a fuel system. I also vaguely recall they
switched to an air/water intercooler as I plan to do.
